Location, Zoning and Transport

LOCATION: Banora Point Primary School is located at Pioneer Parade, Banora Point.

ZONING: The Department of Education and Training has zoned all schools in the Tweed District. Zoning affects the High School which your child will attend after graduating from Banora Point Primary School. Banora Point Primary School is in the zone which feeds Tweed River High School.

Out of zone enrolments are only available should vacancies occur in that grade and the Principal approves the non-local enrolment.

TRANSPORT: There are regulations for free transport for students in specific grades.

Kindergarten, Years 1 & 2:

Conveyed free, by an approved route, by passenger bus, irrespective of the distance from home to school.

Years 3,4,5 & 6.

To be eligible for free travel under the scheme a primary school student must reside outside a 1.6 km radius from the school attended or be required to walk 2.3 km or more because of natural or man made barriers or the nature of the street system.

Some students who do not meet the requirements of living outside the 1.6 km radius may still be eligible.

BUS PASSES & BUS SAFETY

Students are required to have their bus passes with them daily - it is suggested that the pass is attached securely to the student's school bag.
