Term 2 Week 3

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

This week we celebrate some sensational work from Bobby in 5/6DW and Mark in 3/4S. Bobby shared his outstanding comprehension and we had a conversation about onomatopoeia and personification. Mark arrived from the Ukraine this term and shared his descriptive story about a monster called Gabe. Some wonderful helpers came and showed me how hard they work to keep our school looking beautiful. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Thank you to Mrs Dance - Wilson for her organisation of our school Cross Country Carnival in our first week back at school. The thorough organisation ensured the events moved smoothly and spectators and other competitors were able to cheer on fellow competitors. All the best to the students representing our school this Friday at the district carnival at Bilambil.

Please note that the date for the Athletics Carnival Field Events is now Thursday 8 June. The original date was to be confirmed. Permission notes and more information will be distributed closer to the date.

Further in this newsletter you will find information from our canteen coordinator regarding the canteen naming competition. Thank you to Sandy for involving our school community in this process and for her generosity with the prizes for all submissions. We look forward to seeing our new signage very soon.

This week, our Year 3 and 5 students have been sitting the NAPLAN assessments. Parents or carers of students who sit for the NAPLAN assessment will receive a written report of your child's achievement in September. The NAPLAN student report will show your child's results in the key areas of reading, writing, language conventions and numeracy. If you have any questions about NAPLAN or would like guidance to interpret a report, please see your child’s class teacher.

Our PSSA knockout school tennis team played against Terranora Public school this week and were victorious on the day. Well done to our talented players pictured below.
